October 2, 2019, Clean Energy Lab analytical center presented Ukraine's first online electricity cost calculator -  http://bit.ly/30LjPP0 

This tool compares the cost of electricity from different sources in Ukraine, as well as the cost of technology with current electricity prices. The online calculator was developed by the Clean Energy Lab community with the support of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Ukraine.  

The application is freely available in beta testing. 

The cost of energy is calculated based on the LCOE. It covers all types of costs associated with generating electricity over the life of the station and provides value at current prices, taking into account the cost of time. The calculator uses a simplified approach that takes into account basic parameters. Therefore, the LCOE values are oriented to compare technology and location geography. 

“In a 2019 report, Bloomberg notes that these sources are the cheapest for two-thirds of the world. However, why in Ukraine continue to claim that renewable energy is expensive? Because all the discourse is constructed as if RES is a “green tariff” that leads to corruption. So it is expensive. Is it a fact or just a public perception? It is the LCOE calculator that practically destroys some of the myths that exist in the discourse of renewable energy sources, ”said Clean Energy Lab co-founder Alex Mykhailenko.
